It is hard to believe, but summer is coming quickly. It is already starting to feel like summer! How does your family enjoy summer? Is your idea of summer fun mean being in the air conditioning as much as possible? Do you love to be by a pool or lake? Take a look at the article below for some safety reminders for summer.
Make Summer Safe for Kids

Try these activities with your child to open up conversation about some summer safety:

* Let your child decorate their own hat with sparkles, buttons, fabric scraps, markers or whatever you have around the house. Talk about how important it is to protect their head, face and eyes from the sun (A good time to talk about sunscreen too).

* Let your child decorate their own special water bottle or cup. Talk about how important staying hydrated is in the summer heat.

* Using ziploc bags, let your child help you assemble first aid kits for summer outings. Include antibacterial cream, band aids, bandages and other items that you can think of to meet the needs of your family. You can discuss how each item is used with your child.

Now is not too early to be thinking about safety for the summer. Enjoy your summer planning!
